Biorepository Sr. Technician

The Opportunity:

Under moderate supervision, conduct off-site courier services. Ensure vehicle logs and driving records are present and up-to-date. Complete packaging and ship material following the regulatory requirements and transportation guidelines. Verify receipts to ensure damage free products are introduced into our system, discrepancies are properly documented, and accurate records are maintained. Place all incoming and outgoing materials in appropriate staging and storage locations. Preserve the quality and integrity of materials while loading and unloading activities occur. Ensure Receiving/Warehouse areas are safe, clean and presentable at all times.

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor Logistics and Support Services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Clinical Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.  

What we’re looking for :

• Education: BS degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain; MBA highly desirable

Qualifications:

• 5+ years applicable experience

• Experience with SAP preferred

• Experience working in a Global Import/Export Compliance capacity

• Project Management Experience a plus

• Work with suppliers (global & local) to improve performance of overall global supply chain.

• Manage freight strategy including cost analysis, customer freight pricing, and invoicing process.

• Develop logistics strategy to support sales and distribution.

• Execute agreed upon strategy in support of sales goals and objectives.

• Manage transportation activities related to logistics requirements for import and export of goods.

• Identify and assess capabilities of service providers as potential partners in a larger global network.

• Investigate processes to identify areas of opportunity for optimization of existing supply chain.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
