Senior Finance Analyst, Retail

At Peet’s Coffee, we are driven by our passion for crafting high-quality coffee experiences.  The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the finance team supporting strategic and financial planning for Peet’s Retail Coffee Bar business unit. This role partners closely with cross-functional members of the Retail business, as well as Accounting and Finance, to provide insight and decision-support services that maximize store financial performance. This position provides an excellent opportunity for career growth and development in finance and has a meaningful role in providing analytics and insights to improve financial performance.

What You Will Do

• Support the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Analyze monthly financial results, validate key variances, and recommend action steps.
• Prepare internal finance reporting, including but not limited to gross margin, discounts, and other store-level operating expenses.
• Enhance reporting dashboards using Power BI and Excel models; support automation and process improvements.
• Perform analysis and share insights with retail leadership on store performance related to ingredient and product waste, identifying cost-reduction opportunities in collaboration with Operations and Procurement.
• Partner with the Retail Marketing team to evaluate ROI of promotional and discount offers, as well as supporting overall menu pricing strategy.
• Build and maintain cross-functional partnerships to support seasonal product launches, new product initiatives, and reformulations.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Three or more years of finance and accounting experience, ideally in a retail or consumer-driven brand environment.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills and experience creating PowerPoint presentations.
• Experience with financial systems such as D365 (ERP) and Anaplan (financial planning tool).
• Proficiency in PowerBI (or similar analytical tools) is a strong plus but not required.
• Team-player with strong collaboration skills.
• Analytical mindset, highly results-oriented, with a strong sense of initiative.

Peet’s Home Office is a Hybrid worksite, which requires any Home Office employees to work onsite a minimum of 3 days/ week (Emeryville, California). 

At Peet’s we hire the best people and are committed to supporting our employees and rewarding them for their work. The target annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
