Senior Software Engineer - Android

Your role will be to participate in the analysis, design, development, functional extension, implementation and highly specialized support and consultancy related to our company’s software products. You will be writing code in project related teams lead by technical leads and will be involved in project analysis meetings internally and with external stakeholders.</p><p>The position belongs to the XPOS Product Development team, which is part of our Professional Services dept. </p><p>The main areas of interest targeted will be applications for Android POS.</p><p></p><p><strong>Main responsibilities:</strong></p><p>·        Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications for both mobile and EFT-POS devices as part of a large, modular framework supporting multiple customers in the Fintech industry, written in Kotlin.</p><p>·        Ensure high code quality aligned with modern Android development best practices</p><p>·        Contribute to the design and architecture of a scalable Android framework that can be customized and extended for different fintech products and services.</p><p>·        Lead and participate in code reviews and brainstorming sessions about project technical decisions </p><p>·        Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.</p><p>·        Ensure compliance with industry and company security standards, with a strong focus on protecting sensitive data</p><p>·        Ensure compatibility of applications across a diverse range of terminal hardware</p><p>·        Collaborate in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment. </p><p>·        Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across shared modules and project goals</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>·        <strong>Kotlin</strong> - Advanced knowledge, including coroutines and functional programming concepts</p><p>·        <strong>Android SDK</strong> – Deep understanding of core components, lifecycle management and Jetpack libraries such as <strong>ViewModel</strong>, <strong>LiveData</strong>, <strong>Room, DataStore etc.</strong></p><p>·        <strong>Clean Architecture - </strong>Proficiency in modern architectural patterns for maintainable and testable codebases</p><p>·        <strong>Background Processing</strong> – Practical experience with <strong>AlarmManager</strong>, <strong>WorkManager</strong> or <strong>JobScheduler</strong> for scheduling tasks and background work across device types</p><p>·        <strong>Sockets &amp; Networking</strong> – Hands-on experience with <strong>socket programming</strong> and real-time communication, alongside <strong>Retrofit</strong> and <strong>OkHttp</strong> for RESTful APIs</p><p>·        <strong>Gradle</strong> – Advanced knowledge of Gradle, including optimization, custom tasks, and build configuration in large project</p><p>·        <strong>Dependency Injection</strong> – Skilled in using <strong>Dagger</strong>, <strong>Hilt</strong>, or <strong>Koin</strong> </p><p>·        <strong>Security</strong> – Understanding of Android security practices for sensitive domains, including encrypted storage, secure networking, and code obfuscation</p><p>·        <strong>Testing</strong> – Experience with unit testing, UItesting, and integrationtesting</p><p>·        <strong>Version control – </strong>Using of<strong> Git</strong>, with hands-on experience in collaborative workflows such as Git Flow</p><p>·        <strong>Jetpack Compose –</strong> experience is nice-to-have</p><p>·        Fluency in English, both written and verbal </p><p>·        Working experience in agile environments/teams will be highly appreciated. </p><p>·        Fintech background and familiarity with EMV principles will be considered a plus. </p><p>·        Strong attention to detail.</p><p>·        Strong communication and collaboration s
