About you and this role - What you will do in this role

In this role, you will serve as a Senior Improvement Engineer for Dow's SRO Site Industrial Park (I-Park) Team located in Orange, TX.  Sabine River Operations is strategically located in the heart of the Dow Gulf Coast sites.  As a high value, large site in the Dow fleet, you will have opportunity to learn and deepen your skills across several different technologies and processes.

You will serve as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical and organizational skills to drive the plant level continuous improvement program targeted at delivering maximum value from the assets, while continuously improving process safety and production efficiency.

The Sr. Improvement Engineer role is ideal for an experienced engineer that:

The Details:

As the Sr. Improvement Engineer, you will be ready to take on the following challenges and bring value to Dow as you:

• Serve as a member of the plant improvement team to develop and implement Plant Specific Technology Plans in alignment with the Global Technology Plan.  This role will include data collection, gap analysis, idea generation, prioritization, improvement project implementation, and review of results.
• Coordinate and leverage global resources required for implementation of the Technology plans.
• Share improvement project data to improve work practices and priorities in the plant(s).
• Interface with business resources and participate in business plan technology development.
• Work with the Technology Center and MET (most effective technology) Subject Matter Experts.
• Support the facility root cause investigation process by serving as a team member or facilitator for incidents related to process technology.
• Lead and support plant continuous improvement activities aligned to the Process Safety Technology Plans and support the capital plan for the facility.
• Lead continuous improvement activities for the facility and serve in specific Global Project Management (GPM) related roles such as project manager or manufacturing representative.
• Adhere strongly to the MOC and GPM (Global Project Methodology) process in their organization to ensure that reviews are completed thoroughly, risks are adequately assessed, and personnel are properly trained prior to implementing changes in the production facility.
• Ensure validation of project performance objectives after implementation
• Drive knowledge exchange with technology experts to increase awareness of potential improvement opportunities for the technology.

Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering OR at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class (PO2/Sgt) Military ranking.
• A minimum of 2 years of engineering, manufacturing, or related experience.
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
