Description
The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long-term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.

We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Patient Aide I who possesses the skills and desires to care for Kentucky’s Veterans. The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment.

We offer flexible scheduling and holiday, weekend and shift premiums.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists residents with personal hygiene such as grooming, nutrition, elimination, safety and psychosocial needs.
  • Assists residents needs in restorative dining, regular meals, and supplement feedings.
  • Assists residents with exercise and mobility needs by transferring, transporting, positioning, and ambulating.
The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering Independence, preserving Dignity, and providing Compassionate Care.

Working Conditions
Normal working conditions within a health care facility. These facilities may include persons with abnormal behaviors and/or contagious diseases. Frequent exposures to blood and body fluids inherent in an institutional setting which requires the following of safety procedures.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 9 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
