The Position:
Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Database Administrator to join our growing team.

Role Specific Duties:

• Database administration, installation and updates of database servers, softwares, tools, and application tools.
• Allocation of systems storage and planning for future storage requirements for databases.
• Execution for scripts for definition updates provided by the application development teams.
• Roles and User Access provisioning per approved access rights, compliance with database vendor license agreements.
• Implementation of associated database management policies, procedures and standards.
• Monitor systems and platforms for database health, availability and optimum performance Provide 24/7 support for critical situations as part of an on-call rotation
• Design, implement and oversee database backup and recovery plans, replication and high availability architectures

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or another related field
• 10 years of experience with enterprise levels of database administration, database architecture, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience with data analysis, data migration tools, data modeling, data integration, data warehousing, database design, and SQL database and coding
• Administrative experience with multiple database disciplines, such as MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
• Administrative experience with Windows and Linux/Unix server environments, as well as storage appliance technologies for conventional SAN and hyper-converged disciplines
• Experience with latest VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization technologies
• Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring best-practices
• Experience with working in Microsoft Azure, Google GCP, and other cloud-based disciplines

Additional Requirements as per contract/client:

• Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
