Description

Plays a critical role in ensuring performance, durability, and quality of production and repaired equipment. This position supports both the Quality and Engineering teams by diagnosing and repairing DMR (Defective Material Report) equipment, rebuilding airends, and resolving production issues. The technician also contributes to quality improvement initiatives and engineering projects, while providing flexible support across production lines as needed.  

Key Responsibilities

  • DMR Equipment Repair: Troubleshoot and repair defective units returned from the field or flagged during production. 
  • Production Support: Assist in resolving quality issues on the production floor and support production teams during high-demand periods. 
  • Engineering Collaboration: Participate in engineering projects, including prototype builds, testing, and feedback for design improvements. 
  • Quality Projects: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions. 
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, rebuilds, and quality findings to support traceability and process improvement. 
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution. Works as part of the Quality team to assemble parts. 
  • Uses small tools and jigs to manipulate parts for assembly. 
  • Sorts and places material or items on tables, racks, or bins. 
  • Assembles small and large parts manually per specifications. 
  • Align mating parts, perform rotational alignments, and pressure tests. 
  • Wire wide range of motors, including 3 phase and single phase as directed. 
  • Install switches, panels, and lights; cuts and make up conduit as directed. 
  • Cleans assembled parts and places in protective bags or containers. 
  • Assumes responsibility for quality control, rejecting products outside specifications. 
  • Keeps workstation organized; safely storing parts, tools, test equipment and documentation. 
  • Follows safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and company rules and regulations. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Experience using mechanical tools, basic hand tools, pipe installation tools and equipment maintenance knowledge. 
  • Must provide all required tools. 
  • Willingness to work hours outside of the standard schedule as needed, with appropriate notice when possible. 
  • Knowledge of air compressor or other pneumatic mechanical equipment preferred. 
  • Basic electrical knowledge preferred. 
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly, repair, or quality inspection. 
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, especially airends or similar rotating equipment. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions. 
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail. 
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and support multiple departments.
