What we want

The Clinical Teaching Assistant works under the supervision of a Master’s or Doctoraly prepared nursing faculty member primarily in the clinical setting. Assists nursing faculty with the supervision of students during clinical learning experiences.

Salary: Will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.   

Schedule: Part-Time

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

  • At least one year experience working as a Registered Nurse in a clinical hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing

  • Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse

  • Recent/current experience in acute care, med/surg

  • Master of Science in Nursing


Required Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in Texas

Responsibilities

  • Functions in the role of clinical supervisor. 

  • Assists faculty with the supervision of students’ skills performance, student evaluation, and other aspects of student learning in the clinical setting.

  • Consults with a nursing faculty member in clinical settings.

  • May provide occasional classroom assistance for activities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/move light to moderately heavy items.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
