TITLE

Assistant Director, Donor Experience 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Assistant Director of Donor Experience will serve as a member of the Annual Giving leadership team and report to the Senior Director of Annual Giving. The Assistant Director of Donor Experience will assist in building stronger connections with TWU’s 130,000+ alumni and donors worldwide during the university’s first comprehensive campaign celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2026.  The Assistant Director of Donor Experience will manage a portfolio of alumni and donors with clear metrics for engagement, personal meetings/visits, gifts secured, donor count, and growth of the prospect pipeline. This individual will work collaboratively across the university with Alumni Engagement, Marketing and Communications and Annual Giving to create multi-channel engagement campaigns using technology resources such as EverTrue. This role is critical for the university to achieve its annual giving goals and long-term fundraising objectives including the development of qualified major gift referrals. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies and Procedures.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to:      Senior Director, Annual Giving and Engagement

Supervises:     May supervise Support Staff and Student Assistants/Interns

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:

  • Actively engages and builds relationships with a portfolio of supporters and prospects utilizing digital channels such as email, text messages, video conferencing and social media.  Proactively monitors engagement and adjusts messaging as necessary to further expand engagement.
  • Manages a portfolio of approximately 1,000 donors and/or prospective donors.
  • Leverages technology, social media platforms and video conferencing software tools to build rapport, steward and solicit donors in an alumni/donor-centric, targeted, high-velocity manner.
  • Executes monthly and quarterly touchpoint cadences (averaging 30-40 outbound

touchpoints per day) across the portfolio to ensure consistent and relevant communication.

  • Meets and exceeds clearly defined activity metrics, fundraising outcomes and pipeline

growth targets.

  • Develops and maintains an in-depth knowledge in matching the interests and needs of prospective donors with the strategic needs of the university. 
  • Articulates the priorities of the university to selected prospects to secure gifts to priority areas.
  • Works collaboratively with University Advancement departments (major gifts, communications, special events, alumni engagement, etc.) to coordinate fundraising activities.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Performs other duties as requested.

EDUCATION 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of fundraising or related experience such as sales/marketing or financial planning. Previous experience working in an academic or medical advancement setting is preferred.

REQUIREMENT

Regular and reliable attendance during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
