Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology

Technology is at the heart of Disney’s past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization of engineers, product developers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more – all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney’s media business globally.

The team marries technology with creativity to build world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive velocity, innovation, and scalability for our businesses. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Entertainers and Engineers. We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company’s media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.

Here are a few reasons why we think you’d love working here:

  • Building the future of Disney’s media: Our Technologists are designing and building the products and platforms that will power our media, advertising, and distribution businesses for years to come.

  • Reach, Scale & Impact: More than ever, Disney’s technology and products serve as a signature doorway for fans' connections with the company’s brands and stories. Disney+. Hulu. ESPN. ABC. ABC News…and many more. These products and brands – and the unmatched stories, storytellers, and events they carry – matter to millions of people globally.

  • Innovation: We develop and implement groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms, and solve complex and distinctive technical problems.

The Strategy & Operations team within Disney Entertainment and ESPN - Product & Technology is responsible for shaping the organization’s long-term vision, developing a user-centric strategy across Disney’s entertainment and sports products, and executing against the org’s most critical near-term priorities. The team reports directly to the Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO), and uses strategic analysis, creative storytelling, and operational rigor to surface insights, frame trade-offs, and guide decision-making for Disney’s senior leadership.

As a Senior Associate Product & Technology Strategy you will guide the CPTO’s agenda from initial planning to execution. You will define the strategic direction of the organization during a critical period of transformation, identify long-term bets for future growth, and work hand-in-hand with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to accelerate high-priority efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Projects: Drive special initiatives for Product & Technology, and partner with Corporate, Direct-to-Consumer, and ESPN Strategy teams to accelerate Disney-wide priorities. Projects will require you to analyze user needs, assess emerging trends, develop a long-term product vision, influence roadmap prioritization, surface M&A opportunities, and/or guide organizational design.

  • Long-range and Annual Planning: Serve as a primary Product & Technology point-of-contact for corporate planning. This includes articulating the strategic vision for the org, partnering with Product & Engineering leaders to define organizational commitments, and collaborating with Finance to size investments and corresponding ROIs.

  • Executive Reporting: Provide regular Product & Technology updates to Disney’s top executives and stakeholders, in partnership with Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. This includes roadmap reviews, performance updates, and investor narrative discussions with Disney’s most senior leaders up to, and including, the CEO and Board of Directors.

  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Build a “center of excellence” for assessing market developments that impact the Product & Technology roadmap. This includes conducting in-depth market research, unpacking industry trends, monitoring competitor strategies, and providing actionable insights to inform product strategy.

  • Operational Alignment: Drive alignment between strategic objectives and operational activities. Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Operations to harmonize multi-year strategies with near-term goals, roadmap priorities, and operating models.
