The Research Senior Technician provides advanced research support within the Vision and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, directed by Julie Golomb. This role supports research on neural and perceptual representations of visual space, attention, object features, and visual stability across eye movements.

The Research Senior Technician independently conducts standard laboratory research activities and supports broader research projects. This role performs behavioral, eye-tracking, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and electroencephalography (EEG) experiments; collects and processes research data; performs preliminary statistical analysis using programming tools such as Python and Matlab; and assists with the preparation of research reports and manuscripts.

The Research Senior Technician works with a high level of autonomy on routine work, applies established procedures and precedent to resolve issues, and may provide guidance or training to undergraduate research assistants.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Required Qualifications

·         Relevant experience as demonstrated by one of the following:

o    No prior experience required with a Bachelor’s degree

o    Two (2) years of relevant experience with an Associate’s degree

o    Four (4) years of relevant experience with a High School diploma

·         Experience conducting fMRI research and collecting/analyzing data using tools such as Python or Matlab and BrainVoyager or AFNI.

·         Familiarity with cognitive neuroscience methodologies and standard research processes

Ability to independently complete routine research tasks and support data analysis, documentation, and reporting

Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $19.28 - $25.19. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
