Position Overview

The Account Technician I is located at the Vienna Correctional Center. This position is an essential part of the business office team performing complex accounting work in preparation of employee payroll. The primary role of the account technician I is an accounting/payroll function inputting all employee transactions, entering facility payroll, and maintaining employee payroll files. We are looking for a dedicated candidate seeking to be an integral part of our team, a candidate that can be trusted to display professionalism, integrity, civility, transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in all actions. Essential Functions

• Reviews and verifies payroll information presented by timekeeping and personnel department, for accuracy prior to processing institutional payroll.
• Serves as Worker's Compensation Coordinator.
• Generates reports related to retirement and social security calculations for payment.
• Prepares claims for Court of Claims and back wage claims dealing with personal services.
• Serves as back-up to the Account Technician I's in procurement, vouchering, and Systems Application & Products (SAP).
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the dutie
