Overview
The Department of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat or ENT) at Children's Mercy provides expert care for children with all types of ear, nose/sinus, and airway problems. Our team of physicians, advanced practice nurses, and support staff are always ready to help families. The ENT team works closely with many other specialists--including those in Audiology, Speech Pathology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology and Respiratory Care--to meet all our patient's needs.

- Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate plan of care for the patient and family that promotes optimal patient outcomes.
- Meets the educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs.
- Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered.
- Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
- No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all direct care nurses hired after September 1, 2013. Direct care nurses hired after this date without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date.
