Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) operates a fleet of KC-135 aircraft, offering an air-to-air refueling service that seamlessly, safely, and professionally integrates into military aviation training and operations. 

 

Position Summary 

The Maintenance Manager supports the Head of Maintenance by providing support in the accountability for Metrea Strategic Mobility’s (MSM) Maintenance and Logistics departments and their operational support to the CU. This position requires extensive knowledge and experience of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance and logistics, excellent time management skills, and a forward-thinking perspective.


Role and Responsibilities-

  • Provide the Head of Maintenance with technical assistance in the development and approval of MSM Maintenance Department Policies and Procedures for the performance of all phases of Maintenance and support equipment associated with the MSM aircraft, engines, components, and accessories.
  • Acts as a proxy to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Head of Maintenance, during their absence. 
  • Responsible for the efficient utilization of Maintenance personnel by planning the work tasks in a logical manner.
  • Monitor progression of Maintenance activities, evaluation of production methods, and work processes. Initiate more efficient and effective maintenance methods as required.
  • Plan and assign tasks and responsibilities in preparation of heavy inspections and/or major repairs/alterations.
  • Coordinate the requirements for necessary equipment, parts, manpower, components, and supplies for scheduled inspections and major repairs/alterations.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with all maintenance and inspection agencies.
  • Accomplish annual performance evaluations of subordinates.
  • Assure all aircraft inspection and non-routine maintenance records generated are properly completed and transferred to the inspection records department in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with all effected managers in scheduling maintenance inspections and non-routine maintenance.
  • Responsible for monitoring mechanic duty schedules and to ensure that the duty time requirements are not exceeded.
  • Required to ensure that employees under their direction are provided with the training, tools, and equipment necessary to perform their assigned tasks in the safest possible manner, and within the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health organization with legal authority at the location at which those employees are working
  • Monitors personnel hiring and training programs to encourage development of skills and knowledge appropriate to the employees under his/her supervision, and overall improvements in safety and maintenance practices.
  • Shall facilitate hazard identification and safety risk analysis within the area(s) of his/her responsibility.
  • Shall monitor the effectiveness of safety risk controls in the area(s) of his/her responsibility.
  • Shall ensure safety promotion throughout their area of responsibility as required by Safety Management System
  • Monitor maintenance activities to verify that the company policies and procedures required by operational contracts are being complied with. These requirements may vary depending on which contracts aircraft are being operated within.
  • Manage employee payroll, PTO, and sick times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • Hold and maintain a current certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings and either: 
    1. Have 3 years of experience within the past 6 years maintaining aircraft as a certificated mechanic, including, at the time of appointment as Maintenance Manager, experience in maintaining transport category aircraft in a certificated air carrier environment; or
