Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis has an outstanding opportunity available for a RN Specialty Coordinator who will lead the Operating Room's Cardiovascular service line! Our ideal candidate has previous OR experience. This position works 2–10-hour shifts (7:00a-5:30p) and 2–8-hour shifts, (7:00a-3:30p) Monday-Friday, no weekends. The RN Specialty Coordinator coordinates a service line of care for a similar patient population of high acuity patients of all ages within their department. Responsibilities include extensive assessment and clinical judgment of physiological health care, monitoring the status and providing an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team. Serves as the clinical expert to assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs unit and system leadership activities as necessary to support the specific service line. Applies advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty and is required to scrub and/or circulate. Responsible for developing a core curriculum, in conjunction with the clinical educator and system education, for the service line and oversees orientation of new staff and on-going staff education and evaluation of these programs within the service line.
