Do you have seasoned experience developing relationships with donors? Are you skilled in connecting with people, organizing priorities, and following through? Are you ready for more than just a job, and want to make a real difference?

Our ministry is seeking a Senior Officer in Development and Community Relations. This role is perfect for a development professional who enjoys inspiring generosity for a ministry that changes lives.

Why Black Mountain Home?
For more than a century, Black Mountain Home has been a haven for children in need. Today, we walk alongside kids from birth through college age, helping them heal, grow, and thrive. Your work will help connect ministry partners—individuals, churches, and businesses with this life-changing mission.

What You’ll Do:

  • Cultivate and steward a portfolio of mid-level donors, churches, and community partners.
  • Work closely with the VP of Development and other team members to strategize outreach and strengthen donor retention.
  • Communicate with donors, follow up, and provide personalized touchpoints throughout the year.
  • Represent the Home at events, church visits, and small group gatherings—sometimes as a speaker, always as an ambassador.
  • Collaborate with the team on seasonal campaigns, events, and donor appreciation efforts.
  • Contribute to an office culture that is warm, creative, and deeply committed to the mission.

What You Bring:

  • A natural ability to connect and build trust with people.
  • A knack for organizing details and following through.
  • Strong writing and speaking skills—you can share a good story.
  • A Christ-centric heart and a desire to be part of a Christian ministry that engages with church communities.
  • At least 3 years of experience in development, sales, ministry, or community engagement.

Why You’ll Love It Here:
This is a role where your work matters. You’ll see the impact of your efforts—every conversation, every event, and every donor you inspire helps children find hope and healing.
