This position is for a Product Quality Engineering professional. Works as an individual contributor in a team to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of product responsibility. Will facilitate Quality Engineering processes and/or projects including nonconforming material control, root cause and corrective action, continuous improvement and change control. Uses experience and knowledge to control and influence compliance of production to exceed expectation of internal and external Customers while collaborating with cross functional team.

What You Will Do:

  • Direct production floor support of flight product, as part of cross functional support staff team.  Interacting with assembly and test operators to resolve daily concerns as needed.

  • Applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control of deliverable flight products.

  • Primary delegate for disposition of nonconforming material.

  • Analyzes and conducts corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes.

  • Reviews process control documentation to ensure it maintains compliance with requirements, procedures, and contracts partially finished or finished products.

  • Drives risk reduction in product changes, primarily utilizing and driving PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.).

  • Facilitates escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for problems with internally produced products & processes.

  • Implements product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by internal and external customers.

  • Enables strong collaboration between functional quality organizations such as Supply Chain Quality, Design Quality, Customer Quality and other RTX site Quality.

  • Participate and lead continuous improvement activities to make improvements to processes, systems or products.

  • Manage small projects and processes.

  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals


Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience 

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.


Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Actions tools such as 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone

  • Application and inspection experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5

  • Ability to review and interpret specifications that are internal and industry wide specifications.

  • A seasoned professional contributor with understanding of broader set of issues that may be complex.
