Onsite Sr. Lab Technician

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Cambridge, MA

Shift: (Mon–Fri ) 7:00 AM -3:30 PM or 730 AM- 4:00 PM

Hourly Rate: $28.00

What we’re looking for 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) is required 

• Experience: 1-3  years of Proven experience in clinical sample management, logistics, or laboratory operations, preferably in a regulated environment (GCP, GLP, or GMP).

• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred 

• Familiarity with clinical sample handling (frozen and room temperature), storage conditions, and chain of custody procedures.

• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and knowledge of sample tracking systems.

• Understanding of guidelines, GCP, HSE standards, and industry regulations related to clinical sample management preferred

• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and quality control skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and track samples through various stages.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve logistical, administrative, and scientific issues effectively.

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Manage the lifecycle of clinical samples, including shipping, reception, storage, and disposal, ensuring chain of custody and compliance with customer guidelines.

• Oversee frozen and room temperature sample handling, including unpacking, logging, storage, and disposal.

• Prepare and maintain shipment documentation for inbound and outbound samples, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.

• Perform quality control, track samples in LIMS, and manage inventory updates for accurate sample records.

• Support sample transfer and storage, including coordination with laboratories and communication with shippers.

• Address logistical, administrative, and scientific issues related to sample management and update relevant tracking systems.

•  setting up lab space, receiving and organizing samples, and working alongside another associate.
