About the role
Amazon is seeking an experienced 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) Manager to oversee the strategic operations<br/>and performance of our critical third-party logistics provider network. In this pivotal role, you will be<br/>responsible for ensuring our 3PL partners consistently meet our high standards across key areas such as<br/>operational performance, cost management, continuous improvement, change management, network<br/>integration, escalation processes, and provider relationship management. The position requires up to 40% travel to local 3PL sites and Amazon facilities.<br/><br/><br/><br/>Key job responsibilities<br/>Performance Management:<br/>• Establish and lead a structured, systematic approach to site-level performance management,<br/>including the use of short-term improvement plans, deviation management, and providing high-<br/>quality performance comments and feedback<br/>• Proactively identify performance deviations, develop and execute corrective action plans in<br/>collaboration with 3PL providers, and leverage data-driven insights to optimize operations<br/>• Serve as a benchmark for peers, setting the standard for performance management excellence<br/><br/>Cost Management:<br/>• Demonstrate a deep understanding of 3PL business cases and the ability to detect hidden cost<br/>levers<br/>• Drive impactful cost-saving opportunities and efficiency-boosting initiatives, including the piloting<br/>of new productivity and cost-controlling projects<br/>• Actively engage with stakeholders to refine business cases and influence cost-improvement<br/>activities<br/><br/>Continuous Improvement:<br/>• Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to proactively detect<br/>potential issues before they impact KPIs<br/>• Drive operational excellence and structured follow-up with peers and linked businesses, setting<br/>higher benchmarks for the network<br/>• Demonstrate the ability to influence and align with internal and external stakeholders on<br/>improvement plans<br/><br/>Change Management:<br/>• Effectively implement top-down changes from Amazon leadership as well as bottom-up initiatives<br/>to align 3PL operations with Amazon standards<br/>• Exhibit the capability to develop positive and effective initiatives, acting as a primary proposer and<br/>setting higher benchmarks for the rest of the network<br/><br/>Network Integration:<br/>• Establish continuous and successful bi-directional exchange of support with internal senior network<br/>management, acting as a development motor<br/>• Demonstrate the ability to effectively coordinate and align the 3PL site with the broader Amazon<br/>fulfillment network and supporting functions<br/><br/>Escalation:<br/>• Proactively identify and escalate critical issues, utilizing effective communication and partnering<br/>with senior stakeholders to drive timely resolution<br/>• Autonomously author comprehensive escalation reports and successfully participate in senior<br/>leadership calls<br/><br/>3P Key Accounting & Vendor Relationship Management:<br/>• Build strong, profitable, and sustainable relationships with 3PL provider leadership, Amazon's<br/>internal leadership, and the broader provider network<br/>• Become a trusted and reliable interlocutor, seen as a key point of contact and a benchmark for<br/>peers
