Learfield is one of the most influential businesses in all of college athletics, serving as the multimedia rights partner for 160+ schools, the primary ticketing partner for 100+ schools, the licensing partner for over 700 schools, and the official athletic website provider for 1000+ athletic departments. We work with blue chip brands like Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan. We partner with brands like Allstate, Dunkin Donuts, and Marriott. And we care deeply about our people.

At Learfield, our Corporate Strategy team plays an integral role in developing the strategic roadmap for our continued evolution as the leading media and technology company in college sports.  Our group is closely connected to the executive leadership team and helps guide Learfield’s strategic priorities, in support of near-term and long-term operational and financial objectives for the enterprise and specific business units. This team also manages the evaluation of M&A and corporate development opportunities as well as reporting to our Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Corporate Strategy leadership (Sr. Director and Chief Strategy Officer) in developing data-driven recommendations to support ongoing strategy projects and enterprise revenue growth
  • Create frameworks to tackle complex problems; drive quantitative rigor in decision-making
  • Work closely with senior leaders across the company to support cross-divisional strategy projects and to develop consistent KPIs and performance management / tracking
  • Evaluate core business capabilities and support the prioritization of investment opportunities, including analyzing potential M&A activity
  • Develop industry and non-industry perspectives for proactive thought leadership for company
  • Help quantify market opportunity for growth initiatives and evaluate internal capabilities
  • Own development of key strategy deliverables (e.g., initiative sizing and financial models, market assessments)
  • Provide executive-level summaries and implications analysis of industry activity across key strategic priorities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in either strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or investment banking
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication (including presentation skills)
  • Strong business judgment and objective approach to business capability assessment and growth opportunities
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects at one time, and rapidly change priorities based on business needs
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
  • Competitive team-player, curious, creative, and fact-based
  • Executive presence and ability to be a strategic partner to senior leaders across the company

*This person will sit in our Plano, TX headquarters until we relocate to Dallas, TX in November 2024
