What You’ll Work On 

The Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) function concerns itself with the health, safety and security of employees through prevention of incidents, accidents, illnesses, and injuries and of the environment.  Included in the EHS function areas are environmental, safety, employee health, industrial hygiene, fire, and security.  The EHS&S Specialist will be responsible for a variety of safety and security programs; risk assessments and audits; regulatory and Abbott reporting; assisting with project and contractor management; training; and monitoring.

  • Develops, implements, and manages plant safety programs
  • Conduct Plant Safety Meeting
  • Assist management in preparing a variety of EHS presentations
  • Keep informed on current environmental, health, safety and security regulations and legislation and recommend policy changes.
  • Implements and manages Abbott global technical standards
  • Conducts risk assessments
  • Develops and conducts/coordinates EHS trainings
  • Maintain files and records pertaining to environmental, safety and security
  • Maintain site environmental reports and permits
  • Conduct site regulatory inspections
  • Assists with accident/incident investigation and corrective actions
  • Conduct frequent EHS tours/audits of all plant areas and make recommendations for corrective actions for environmental, safety and health concerns.
