Reporting to the Global Head of Sales, the Global Head of Strategic Account Business Development will lead a team of business developers across Europe and the US to:

  • Build consultative, business development relationships with targeted prospective and existing clients who are new to BBH or have limited business with BBH.
  • Manage and coach individuals to maximize individual and team performance, increase effectiveness and deliver results.
  • Establish and execute a sales methodology to instill a value driven business development consultative approach, implement best practices and identify trends and relevant market insights to incorporate in messaging and serve as input to BBH’s product lifecycle.
  • Establish individual and team metrics to monitor progress and results.

The Global Head of Strategic Account Business Development will ensure coordination across all Investor Services (i.e. Custody, Fund Accounting, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency) relevant product and subject matter experts to ensure a strategic and integrated approach which delivers solutions leveraging BBH’s products, platforms, services and expertise across the firm. 

The ideal candidate will be able to draw from a successful business development track record to credibly coach and manage the Strategic Account Business development global team, establish best practices and key metrics to measure progress and results.  The success of the role holder will be measured by the team’s success and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management and Coaching

  • Management, assessment and coaching of the global Strategy Account Business Development group to effectively:
  • Assess opportunities, formulate strategic plans for their assigned names and lead efforts across Investor Services to identify, position and deliver integrated solutions to address assigned names strategic challenges leveraging BBH products, platforms and services.
  • Establish KPIs to measure critical aspects of the business development cycle including account penetration, pipeline progression, deal team effectiveness and revenue at the team and individual levels – establish individual and team accountability
  • Develop team skills and capabilities
  • Establish and execute a business development discipline and methodology leveraging best practices.  Establish a learning culture where the team learns from their account engagements, successes and challenges
  • Identify training needs and coordinate solutions to meet team needs ranging from knowledge training to skill development
  • Establish individual and team performance targets and revenue goals

Market Positioning and Investments

  • Identify markets trends, competitive intelligence and opportunities based on the strategic business account engagement trends across segments and regions to enhance BBH’s product and market positioning
  • Identify capability gaps and opportunities derived from pipeline assessment and strategic account engagement trends to effectively incorporate into BBH’s product lifecycle and investment decisions.

Requirements:

  • Experienced manager, with a successful track record Consultative, strategic business development experience
  • Experience in Asset Servicing and extensive network with Asset Managers is preferred
  • Excellent coaching and consultative skills
  • Experience in business development methodology
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Travel required to effectively manage teams in Europe and the US
  • BS/BA, or equivalent work experience.
