Disability Services Internship - Via of the Lehigh Valley

Via of the Lehigh Valley, a 2023 and 2024 Top Workplace winner, is offering paid internships! Rotate through and experience a number of Via‘s diverse programs. Through shadowing professionals in the field, you will gain knowledge about services for individuals with disabilities. After your rotation, you will be placed in a program for the remainder of your internship. 

Via's Programs: 

• Community Connections: Helps individuals explore interests and learn preferences while working on vocational, socialization, and communication skills. 
• Adult Training Services: Promotes wellness and social interaction through cultural and recreational activities, and life skills training.
• Small Group Employment: Work onsite at companies providing job coaching to small teams while providing contract services for employers.
• Pre-Vocational Training: Provides coaching and vocational training, helping individuals learn new skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.
• Community Employment: Provides job development, job coaching, and follow-along support to adults with disabilities to assist them with working in the community.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be currently accepted/enrolled in a Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or Human Services & Rehabilitation program. 
• Must have a valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and appropriate vehicle insurance. Transportation to different municipality sites is required.
• Must have flexibility with the schedule.
• Ability to work in a variety of settings and function in an ever-changing environment.
• Strong communication skills.
