Job Description:
At Regions, the Divisional Chief Information Officer (CIO) serves as the senior technology leader for designated business, functional, and enterprise capability areas, providing comprehensive technical leadership, strategy, and execution. This executive shapes and enables business strategy through technology; leads multiple development teams across diverse capabilities; and ensures systems are secure, scalable, reliable, and efficient. The Divisional CIO is responsible for safe and sound operations, strong risk management, and effective delivery of technology solutions. As the primary technology partner to business leadership, this role drives technology enabled growth and operational excellence by leveraging both business specific and enterprise technology capabilities. The Divisional CIO reports directly to the Chief Enterprise Operations and Technology Officer.
Primary Responsibilities
- Acts as the primary senior technology partner to business unit leadership, serving as a member of the respective executive leadership teams and ensuring strong alignment between technology and business strategy
- Coordinates across Technology, Cyber Security, Digital, and Data organizations to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions that meet business needs
- Defines long-term technology strategy and roadmaps—aligned to enterprise priorities and developed in partnership with Enterprise Architecture—to accelerate execution of business unit strategic plans
- Leads the full lifecycle of application systems for the business units, overseeing design, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance while ensuring platforms remain stable, secure, reliable, technically mature, and aligned to business outcomes
- Champions a culture of risk ownership and accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement within the TODD teams to encourage associates to approach situations with a compliance and operational excellence mindset
- Establishes and oversees partnerships across TODD to ensure controls are designed, implemented, and monitored to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security, effectively mitigating risk to levels within the company’s risk appetite
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field and fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering, DevSecOps, and modern delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile)
- Seven (7) years of supervisory or managerial experience leading large-scale teams of 100+ technology professionals
Preferences
- Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry
- Proven experience leading at least one core platform replacement or largescale system modernization
