Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Avionics Integration Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
The selected engineer will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team on key efforts to develop novel integrated SW/HW integration and test approaches across NGAS programs. The successful engineer will contribute to the overall development of HW/SW subsystems, including developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, developing and managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating all allocated requirements. You will design, develop, build, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks in conjunction with key suppliers.
Will be responsible for one or more of the following:
Support development and integration of HW/SW subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
Develop integrated HW/SW integration and test approaches across NGAS programs.
Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Performing functional and performance analyses
Conducting detailed trade studies
Performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure
Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
Lead and/or support technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teams
Perform analyses and estimate performance of components, subsystems and systems in accordance with governmental and commercial standards.
Configure, test, document and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems
Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
Develop supplier documentation such as procurement specifications, and statements of work, and review artifacts from the supplier’s development effort
Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Principal Avionics Integration Engineer (T04):
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 6 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
