About the role
Matrix Providers is hiring for Registered Nurses (MED SURG) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our veterans and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD
- Status: Fulltime
- Schedule: Monday-Friday (Day Shift)

Qualifications:
- Degree/Education: Graduated from an accredited nursing school and successfully pass the NCLEX exam. Education as follows: Either (a), a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; or (b) a Diploma Graduate in Nursing from an accredited university.
- Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Possess and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is highly recommended.
- Experience: Have a minimum of three years full time experience within the last five years caring for adult patients as a RN in an acute care setting.
- Board Certification: Possess current clinical competency.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse
Duties:
- knowledgeable of equipment and supply terminology and skill sufficient to identify and use necessary equipment and supplies properly and to communicate proper use with nurses, medical staff, patients, and family members.
- Sufficiently skilled to teach patients proper self-care and to motivate patients and family members to continue the procedures for promoting rapid healing.
- Knowledgeable and possess skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients. The contract RN shall demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the appropriate patient population served: infants, children, adolescent, adults, and geriatric (>65).
- Possess knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments related to prevention, and detection of illnesses in adults, is desirable.
- Knowledgeable in professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.
- Possess knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
