Job Summary

The job of Paraprofessional - Special Education is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the special education program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for assisting in the instruction of individual or small groups of students in a variety of subject areas and providing individualized learning experiences to encourage academic excellence; assisting in the implementation of a behavior modification program; monitoring and reporting student behavior and performance; providing information to appropriate school personnel; and performing a variety of clerical duties as assigned.
This job reports to Principal or Assistant Principal

Hours

5 hours, 5 days a week. 180 days per year

Requirements / Qualifications

Please attach to your application a copy of your paraprofessional certificate, resume, and three letters of recommendation. Vacaville Unified School District employees, have first priority. 

• High School Diploma or Equivalent 
• Paraprofessional Exam or at least 48 semester units at an institution of higher learning
• Resume
• Must be able to pass the required Strength and Agility Test
• Criminal Background Clearance
• Tuberculosis Clearance
