Job Description Summary
As part of the Turbine Module engineering team, the Lead Engineer, HA Turbine Blades is responsible for the design and analysis of gasturbine rotating hot gas path (HGP) components for new units & upgrades. Additionally, the responsibilities of the Lead Engineer, HA Turbine
Blades may include qualifying rotating HGP hardware for new factory introductions and supporting production; supporting and performing root
cause analysis and preventative / corrective action activities for fielded hardware; performing and supporting ideation and execution activities
associated with multi-year agreements; reducing cost and adding value to our products through product cost out and value engineering.
The Lead Engineer, HA Turbine Blades also ensures that rotating HGP hardware will meet product and design requirements, by working closely with the Controlled Title Holders and interfacing teams on component and sub-system optimizations.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Participate and present in formal and informal technical reviews with Controlled Title Holders for all design projects and tasks, following documented NPI and RCA Processes.
- Maintain broad awareness of efforts within the team to assure excellent technical quality, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs.
- Communicate technical issues within Turbine Module team and interfacing organizations such as Clearances, Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Suppliers, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Customer Service Engineering.
- Promote professional growth through coaching and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering / Science from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 6 years relevant engineering experience
Desired Characteristics
- Gas turbine rotating hot gas path mechanical design experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to study, analyze and propose solutions to resolve technical problems
The base pay range for this position is 98,400.00 - 164,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% bonus.
