Technical Writer/Policy Analyst [Security]

Description

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile individual to join our team as a Technical Writer/Policy Analyst. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our information security posture, contributing to the development of comprehensive security documentation, and ensuring alignment with FISMA and NIST standards. This position requires proven experience in technical writing and policy development for security and information technology.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a variety of security documentation, including policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and best practice documents.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical teams to gather information and ensure accuracy in technical content.
• Translate complex Cybersecurity technical concepts into clear and concise documentation for a diverse audience.
• Develop and update information security policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational needs.
• Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends to proactively address emerging risks.
• Develop clear and concise technical documentation, including system configurations, security procedures, and incident response plans.
• Communicate policy changes and updates to relevant stakeholders and conduct periodic reviews.
• Participate in incident response activities, including documentation of incident details, response actions, and lessons learned.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of incident response procedures and play a key role in post-incident reviews.
• Ability to conduct some level of analysis to aid in creation of new policies or documents.
• Support document management of policies and documents; work with other teams.

Requirements

Experience/Education

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, Cybersecurity, or Technical Writing or related field.
• 5+ years proven experience as a Technical Writer/Policy Analyst (required)
• Strong understanding of security principles and practices (highly desirable)
• Excellent technical writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner. (required)
• Experience in developing and maintaining information security policies and procedures. (required)
• Familiarity with relevant cybersecurity frameworks
