Sr. Food Scientist

Job Description

As the Senior Food Scientist, you will be specializing in bakery, for a pivotal role at the Webster Groves Technical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This position requires a seasoned professional to lead the development of new bakery product applications. The ideal candidate will drive innovation, collaborate effectively, and advocate ICL's leavening portfolio, translating customer needs and industry trends into impactful solutions within the bakery domain. 

 

I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position? 
•    Promote ICL’s leavening portfolio and technology to bakery customers.
•    Lead new product applications supporting the bakery business.
•    Conduct testing and analysis of current and new products to evaluate their functional attributes and organoleptic properties, assessing their performance in finished applications.
•    Drive new product and formulation development, fostering innovation.
•    Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Teams to promote the portfolio to existing and new clients.
•    Act as the face of ICL Bakery for both technical and non-technical audiences.
•    Manage projects with a stage-gate process, ensuring strategic alignment and successful deliverables.
•    Oversee project deliverables aligning with strategic and project plans.
•    Actively engage and drive strategic R&D collaborations.
•    Collaborate closely with the Global Bakery Team.

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role? 
•    5 or more years of industry experience with bakery applications development.
•    Ph.D. or M.S. in Food Technology, Food Science, Cereal Science, and/or a related field.
•    Strong technical knowledge and understanding in cereals, bakery testing, and processes.
•    Demonstrated understanding of food product chemistry.
•    Proficiency in documentation, organization, and time management.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to travel approximately 20%

Salary Range: $89,320 - $165,880
