The NHMLAC is seeking a Part-time Guest & Member Associate I for our Guest Relations department.  The Guest & Member Associate I is responsible for ensuring that all Guests have a great visit with messaging tailored towards what activities, exhibitions, membership opportunities, and presentations the Guest expresses interest in or is curious about.

Ensuring the organization's protocols are followed at all times, including but not limited to timekeeping, ticketing, cash handling, security and safety. Providing revenue support through the sale of memberships, general admission, special exhibitions, parking, programs, etc. Providing all other aspects of a customer service role.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Greets and welcomes all guests to the Museum with a positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude and appearance at all times.

• Processes admission, parking, special exhibition, and membership fees of cash, check or credit cards. Processes school and other group check ins and related fees. Processes these transactions correctly and efficiently.

• Communicates with guests regarding programs, exhibitions, collections, events, and other experiences for our Museums and surrounding facilities, or directs them to appropriate Museum staff.

• Addresses guest complaints and service recovery opportunities, or directs them to appropriate supervision staff.

• Provides guests with information on membership and group sales. Solicits new or lapsed memberships and donations to support the Foundation's mission. Maintains up to date profile information for members and donors.

• Directs guests to the appropriate galleries, eateries, shops, web pages and Museum personnel, such as Museum Educators and Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leads.

This position has the following requirements:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred. In some circumstances, students actively in school with valid work permits will be considered.

• At least 2 years of Customer Service experience.

• Basic knowledge of computers

• Previous ticketing system experience is a plus

• Additional language skills a plus

• AbiIity to Iift at I east 25 pounds

• Must be able to work shifts at both the Natural History Museum and La Brea Tar Pits and Museum

• Must be able to work at least 4 days per week
