Position Overview
The Associate Scientist, Cell and Molecular Biology performs various scientific analyses using molecular and cell biology tools to evaluate the quality of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices. Report the findings of compliance with established quality parameters or of any deviations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Testing: Conduct complex quality control tests on raw materials, in-process materials and finished products. This requires knowledge of and experience in cell and molecular biology techniques. 

  • Equipment: Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance and calibrate according to SOPs to maintain accuracy.

  • Technology Transfer (TT) and Validation: Support TT and method validation activities including report writing.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with instrumentation in compliance with internal quality standards.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Compile, interpret, and document statistical data from testing processes to confirm substance tested is in compliance with established quality standards or identify deviations if any.  Familiarity with LIMS for data tracking and management is preferred. 

  • Collaboration: Work with project teams to integrate analytical results into project plans.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related discipline.  Advanced degrees are often preferred.

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in cell and molecular biology / biochemistry / biotechnology laboratory.  Experience in quality control in pharmaceutical space.    

  • Skills: Proficiency with laboratory equipment relevant for cell and molecular biology work and of techniques including but not limited to PCR (qPCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR), ELISA, Western blot, aseptic techniques, cell culture related experience, plasmid related techniques, gel-based protein separation (including capillary based platforms). Experience in biologic therapeutics (mAB) is preferred.
