Role Summary/Purpose:

The Client Forecasting Analyst will collaborate across Collections and cross-functionally to forecast delinquency and losses.  The primary focus for this position will be creating the Age Loss challenge forecast and driving understanding of dynamics to ensure accurate estimates of at the SYF and sub-levels.  The secondary focus of this role will be understanding external economic dynamics and how they may relate to future performance. The role will be responsible for continuously validating and adjusting risk & opportunities and communicating to Collections Leadership and across functions and Clients.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate short--term delinquency and Aged Loss forecasting.

  • Prepare critical analyses of delinquency and loss results (trend analysis, client metrics, etc.). 

  • Work closely with Collections Client Managers and Client teams to understand Client dynamics and trends. 

  • Deliver insightful analysis to identify key performance drivers and business improvement opportunities. 

  • Develop and communicate forecast trends and reporting for Collections, Forecasting, Client teams, and Senior Management. 

  • Maintain, update and validate policy and procedures documentation related to Forecasting including all Business Process Control Monitoring. 

  • Build relationships with key leaders across Synchrony Collections, Strategy, Risk and Credit, Compliance, Operations, Finance, IT, and Client teams to partner on strategic planning, process management, performance and execution. 

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR in lieu of degree, 8 years of progressive experience within the financial industry with focus in Forecasting, Operations, Collections, Financial Analysis, Risk or Marketing Analytics
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience including:
    • 2+  years of experience using SAS / SQL or other packages to perform in depth statistical analysis, query methods, relational databases, and handle large amounts of data 
    • 2+ years of experience using advanced Excel functions

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of Forecasting, Operations, Collections, Financial Analysis, Risk or Marketing Analytics 

  • Master’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field 

  • Collections, Forecasting, and Strategy experience 

  • Strong executive presence and the ability to tailor messages to senior leaders 

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills 

  • Use personal influence and credibility to achieve organizational results by collaborating with cross functional/cross-platform employees 

  • Communicate and interact with senior leaders of the organization across a variety of issues with poise and confidence 

  • Experience in delinquency and loss or similar forecast modeling 

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
