About the role

Summit Property Management is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven San Antonio-based Regional Manager to oversee a portfolio of multi-family communities. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in investor and ownership accountability, asset collections, and turnaround strategies for underperforming properties. This role requires strong leadership, superior customer service skills, and the ability to build teams.
The Regional Manager will serve as a key liaison among ownership groups, asset managers, and onsite teams to ensure properties achieve operational, financial, and resident-satisfaction goals.
Responsibilities:
(include, but are not limited to)
  • Provide direct leadership and support to Property Managers across a designated regional portfolio.
  • Drive operational performance to meet or exceed ownership/investor expectations.
  • Develop and execute turnaround strategies for underperforming or troubled assets.
  • Monitor property financials, including rent collections, expense management, and variance reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to ownership groups, asset managers, and executive leadership.
  • Maintain strong customer service standards to maximize resident retention and community reputation.
  • Train, mentor, and develop onsite management teams to ensure consistency in policies, procedures, and performance.
  • Conduct regular property visits to assess physical conditions, operational practices, and compliance adherence.
  • Partner with accounting and asset management to ensure accuracy of budgets, forecasts, and collections.
  • Lead and support marketing, leasing, and resident engagement initiatives to drive occupancy.
  • Collaborate with ownership and investors on strategy, financial goals, and capital improvements.
  • Enforce company policies and promote a positive, team-oriented culture.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of regional manager experience in the multi-family housing industry.
  • Affordable housing is a plus
  • Must have third-party management client experience 
  • Proven success in asset recovery, turnaround strategies, and operational improvement.
  • Demonstrated track record of effective collections management and improving delinquency metrics.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and investor reporting.
  • Customer service focused, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships with residents, staff, investors, and ownership groups.
  • Proficiency in property management software (Yardi, RealPage, or similar).
  • Ability to travel regularly within assigned portfolio.

Physical Demands: The job is periodically sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climbing stairs or squatting) to tour and inspect apartments/communities. Involves sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods and stooping for brief periods. There is some repetitive motion of the
hands and wrists associated with using a computer.
