About the role

Description

The responsibilities of the successful applicant include pre-clinical, clinical and didactic teaching of prosthodontics at the dental student and resident levels, scholarly activity, institutional service and participation in school governance.  Candidates should demonstrate a clear potential for academic growth in teaching, scholarship and service. 

The individual should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality and collaboration.  A willingness to serve as a role model and advocate for the ideals of professionalism and high ethical standards in a health science educational setting is essential.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
DDS/DMD degree (or foreign equivalent) from a CODA-accredited dental school/college. Certificate from a CODA-accredited Advanced Dental Education Program in Prosthodontics at the time of employment. Eligible for, or has, a New York State Dental license. Experience in and an appreciation for the interdisciplinary care of patients with other dental specialists

Preferred Qualifications:
Greater than three years of didactic and/or clinical teaching experience in a CODA-accredited dental school/college or hospital setting. Board certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics. Advanced degree(s) of MS and/or PhD (or foreign equivalent) in a related field. Formal training and practice experience CAD/CAM digital dentistry. A record of research and/or scholarly activity. Participation in organized dentistry at the local, state or national level.
