The Lead Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. The Lead Software Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Lead Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Lead to join our Data Use Engineering team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safeguarding of sensitive information through effective coding and system development on Mainframe technologies.

Demonstrated proficiency in Mainframe technologies, including but not limited to COBOL, JCL, REXX, VSAM and DB2. The ideal candidate should possess strong foundation in coding to contribute effectively to the development and enhancement of Mainframe Applications developed in-house.

Take a lead role in enforcing Data at rest, Data in transit and Dynamic data Masking to ensure the security of sensitive information. This involves a deep understanding of data protection principles and practices. Implement and configure dynamic data masking techniques to safeguard sensitive information, collaborating with security teams to assess risks and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

Hands on experience with Data protection tools like Protegrity or other Industry standard tools is highly desirable. The ability to leverage these tools to enhance data security measures experience will be an added advantage.

Ability to lead and guide team in new development or enhancements of existing system. Provide mentorship and direction to ensure the team’s success in delivering high-quality solutions. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to software engineering team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture, and guiding them in adopting agile practices and continuous improvement.

Thorough understanding and familiarity with both Online and Batch systems design and development on the Mainframe platform. The ability to design efficient and scalable systems.

Keep abreast of emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in mainframe development and data security, evaluating their applicability and integrating relevant advancements into project planning and execution to drive innovation and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 8 years' experience and demonstrated proficiency in Mainframe technologies, including but not limited to COBOL, JCL, REXX, VSAM and DB2

  • 8 or more years of progressive IT experience as a senior developer in large IT projects

  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.  

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$126,800 - $174,500 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
