Job Description
The Senior Analyst position will be a member of the Global Interchange Team supporting all geographies in evaluating interchange rate changes, supporting new products, and developing custom merchant rates. Additionally, this position will support global deals.
This in an individual contributor role whose main focus will be supporting region-specific proposals, however, they will have the additional strategic role of helping to develop global deals and then supporting the implementation and ongoing review of these global deals.
This role requires querying large databases to obtain the data necessary to evaluate different interchange opportunities, building financial cost-benefit analyses and models to determine impacts for issuers, acquirers, and Visa using VisaNet data, and make recommendations to management.
The position requires the ability to apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve business problems, and quickly arrive at recommendations that drive corporate priorities. The Senior Analyst will report to the Senior Director, Global Interchange.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- 2 or more years total professional or internship experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, pricing, banking or international finance.
- Ability to develop content independently and prioritize workflow, and to adapt to changes in priorities quickly
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and able to meet deadlines
- Quick-thinker, fast learner, wide general knowledge, problem solver
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze sophisticated financial modeling
- Good business acumen in order to orient data analysis to business needs and identify the best solution out of many options
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to interact and build credibility with functional and regional stakeholders within Visa.
- Self-starter, team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.
- Advanced user of excel and power point
- Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback and coaching from peers and managers
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
