Role and responsibilities
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in solid modeling, detailed drawings, and mechanical design to join our CAD Engineering team. This position will be focused on creating/sustaining mechanical assemblies and completing drawing updates for change orders for Cymer’s DUV laser products.
In this role, as a member of the CLS PDG CAD Eng team, you will be:
Processing change orders and updating documentation in Agile.
Create solid models and detailed drawings for parts in Creo.
Create sub-assemblies and full laser assemblies in Creo.
Mechanical design of machined, sheet metal, additive, and molded parts.
Calculate and analyze mechanical tolerance stack ups.
Conduct problem solving on mechanical fit and performance issues.
Collaborate with vendors on the fabrication of mechanical parts.
Design production fixtures for assembly and alignment.
Collaborate with other engineering groups such as Optics, Chambers, Systems, and Controls on sub-system design.
Other responsibilities may be added as business conditions arise.
Education and experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required, advanced degree (M.S.) is a plus.
Requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant job-related experience (or combination of relevant job-related experience and educational experience beyond B.S.).
Experience designing mechanical parts (machined, sheet metal, additive, molded) and mechanical assemblies.
Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical tolerance analysis.
Experience working with machine shops and other part fabricators.
Highly proficient/expert with CAD software (solid modeling and detailed drawings). Creo is strongly preferred.
Finite Element Modeling experience (structural, thermal, vibration) preferred.
Experience with documentation control systems, Agile and Windchill preferred.
Experience designing opto-mechanical parts and assemblies is preferred.
Familiarity with industrial lasers and semiconductor capital equipment is a plus.
