ONE WORLD OBSERVATORY

Positioned at the top of One World Trade Center—the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere—on levels 100, 101, and 102, One World Observatory provides guests with unique, panoramic views of New York City, its most iconic sites, and surrounding waters from 1,250 feet. A customized guest experience complements the seemingly endless views—evoking feelings of the City’s signature pride, hope and determination (including special interactive experiences and dining options, plus a sit-down restaurant). THE ROLE

The bar-back’s primary mission is to assist bartenders and make sure that they always have what they need (e.g., glasses, garnishes, stocked bottles, fresh kegs)--essentially helping the bar operation run as smoothly as possible. The role reports to the Food & Beverage Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide bar supplies and provide the bartender with items that help assure exceptional guest service specifically in the Restaurant environment - upon request
  • Stock bar items daily and filling the ice bins as needed
  • Anticipate needs throughout the shift
  • Assist in keeping all areas clean and organized
  • Know your work area and set up as instructed
  • Abide by the operating standards outlined in the policy and procedure manual
  • Ensure prompt, quality service is provided
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read, speak and write English Language in order to communicate with guests
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team orientated setting
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds (occasionally 50)
  • Ability to work all events as needed, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
