We are looking for:

 

The Maintenance Superintendent ensures the efficient utilization of maintenance, engineering, and utility department’s resources to continually improve equipment reliability and optimize unit operating costs for the Vernon, TX site.

• Maintain plant facilities for the manufacture of product.
• Manage maintenance and any related project costs to the overall benefit of the company.
• Provide the leadership to move from a reactionary repair mode to one that performs work in an orderly and proactive manner.
• Develops and continually improve maintenance management systems.
• Develops, adjusts, and maintains personnel development programs for all support staff to meet or exceed the objectives of both the operating plant and individual person.
• Develops and maintains storeroom programs that ensure inventory and personnel optimization.
• Lead the Vernon capital program to prioritize capital projects for the Vernon site following corporate capex, capital excellence, and best practice guidelines.

 

HSE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Support and participate in plant HSE initiatives including such things as performing STOP observations and ISMEC counseling.
• Enforce all site and corporate safety rules and procedures within the plant.  Lead by example.
• Assure appropriate HSE training is provided to all subordinates.
• Assure all safety inspections and audits are performed and documented.
• Assure mechanical integrity program is maintained and adhered to.
• Conduct periodic inspections to assure compliance to existing safety rules and procedures and to assess the effectiveness and need for other risk reduction activities within the departments.
• Assure all subordinate contractors understand and adhere to plant safety rules and procedures.
• Represent Syensqo through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for all employees.
• Support Process Safety Management including Management of Change and ensure incident investigations are conducted in area of responsibility and that action items are completed in a timely manner.

You will bring:

 

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent degree preferred.  
• Relevant field experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. High school diploma required.
• Five to ten years working in an industrial facility, preferably in a chemical plant.  
• The person should have five or more years' experience supervising maintenance and back ground in construction management, project management, and project engineering. 
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage, motivate and develop personnel and to facilitate cooperation between affected departments.  
• This position requires good computer skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $90,880 to $113,600 per year 
• Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
