JOB SUMMARY
The Server Engineer III responsibilities include completing work on major, complex projects with full competency. Coordinate with both technical and non-technical staff and vendors on the implementation of complex projects. Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex problems on both physical and virtual infrastructure platforms. Recommend, implement, and document corrective solutions and preventative measures. Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new technology solutions. Provide Tier 3 support and guidance to IT for all Health System and affiliate entities. Document work in the form of policies, standards, and knowledge base articles. This position consists of ensuring solutions are delivered in adherence to defined standards and policy.
The Server Engineer III position is expected to actively work on technical projects and provide/receive guidance/from team members as needed to ensure the quality and delivery of work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide training and mentoring on technologies to peers and colleagues
- Assist with the evaluation and recommendation of technical solutions based on requirements, ranging from group to enterprise-wide deployments
- Engage in tier 2 and tier 3 troubleshooting on issues identified with deployed services, providing resolution and remediation
- Tests software updates and patches
- Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels in standalone and multi tiered environments.
- Conducts system analysis, configuration management, and develops improvements for system software performance, availability, and reliability.
- Provides in-depth diagnosis for operating systems, software/hardware failures and develops solutions.
- Prescribes system backup/disaster recovery procedures and directs recovery operations in the event of destruction of all or part of the operating system or other system components.
- Implements appropriate levels of system security.
- Perform tasks related to the operation, servicing, troubleshooting, and administration of platform technologies.
- On-call availability 7/24 as part of a rotation schedule.
