A Brief Overview
The Senior Workers Compensation Classification Analyst is responsible for reviewing TriNet client' business operations, as well as the client employee's job duties, to ensure TriNet is compliant with Workers' Compensation Basic Manual guidelines. This role identifies, communicates and resolves issues found during the risk evaluation with appropriate internal and external customers. They may also act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to resolve complex issues as requested by the leadership team. 

What you will do

  • Complete risk evaluations of all clients’ business operations and workers compensation classification coding by evaluating records of departments and interviewing clients to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations are followed.
  • Act as primary point of contact for WC carrier during the audit process.
  • Research, respond and resolve all state classification inquiries and bureau criticisms.
  • Act as lead and primary contact when under state audit review.
  • Prepare and submit evaluation findings and make recommendations to management.
  • Manage all changes discovered in the evaluation process by working with the Services team, Salesforce Cases, and Service Orders.
  • Conduct special evaluations assigned by management for accounts with a high loss ratio and/or clients with classification concerns identified during an on-site Risk Mitigation visit.
  • Act as a project lead and/or mentor/coach for junior Analysts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred 

Experience Qualifications

  • Typically 5+ years Experience in workers compensation premium auditing and/or underwriting required 

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong background and knowledge in Workers Compensation and in Property & Casualty insurance 
  • Strong working knowledge of NCCI & Independent Bureau Workers’ Compensation rules, manuals, and industry practices 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills 
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace 
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 

Licenses and Certifications

  • APA course completion; PAAS training course completion or other relevant professional insurance designation preferred
