Summary of Job Duties:
The Orthopedic Technician assists physicians in the application and management of casts and braces, provides instruction and assistance to resident physicians in cast, splint, and brace application, gives instruction on proper care of casts, braces, etc. to patients. Also provides instructions to rotating medical students and assists with orders and maintains an adequate stock of orthopedic supplies.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED plus one (1) year of direct patient care experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Orthopedic tech experience or Medical Assistant Certification
Enrollment in a healthcare-related educational program (Medical Assistant, Nursing School, or Med School).
