Description
These assistant and associate professor-level faculty appointments will be held in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine.
The Department resides in the highly collaborative environment at Vanderbilt University, which provides a strong and collegial environment for interdisciplinary clinical teams, fruitful research collaborations, and the development of innovative educational initiatives at all levels.
The Nashville campus of the Tennessee Valley Veterans Healthcare System is located next to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and many of our division faculty enjoy joint appointments.

Qualifications
Clinician-educators should have evidence of teaching experience and exhibit a fervent desire to be involved in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. An academic Clinician-Educator (CE) track position is 80% clinical, with additional teaching, scholarship, quality improvement, and administration responsibilities.
Physician-scientist applicants should have substantial post-graduate training highlighted by peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate research productivity, and successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain an independent research program and participate in the teaching of graduate and medical students. A Physician-Scientist track position provides 80% of the time for research in collaboration across various disciplines.
Clinically focused Geriatricians can be involved in in-patient care in venues ranging from an in-patient Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit and a Geriatrics Consult Service to several skilled nursing facilities and ambulatory care clinics, emphasizing transitions-of-care.
