Staff Environmental Engineer - (Environmental Liability)

Description:
Provides technical and regulatory assistance to Environmental Liability and Remediation (ELRM) management on environmental issues that impact Valero or subsidiary companies.
- Ensures continued compliance with existing environmental regulations and obligations under cleanup Plans and Orders.
- Negotiates with regulatory agencies to attain favorable environmental remediation terms, and eliminate or reduce unnecessary cleanup work.
- Interprets regulatory requirements and determines the impact of these requirements on remediation projects. Presents issues to management in an effective manner to develop corrective actions, if required.
- Manage environmental assessment and remediation work as assigned, including budgeting, cost control, and direction of contractors to perform work.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Engineering or related science required.
- 8 years of environmental remediation project management experience required.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of time domestically and/or internationally as required.
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
