We're inviting professionals from around the world to join our mission and contribute to the future of mRNA medicines. </p><p></p><p>Moderna is seeking a dynamic Manager, General Accounting to join our International Finance team in Warsaw. This crucial role involves overseeing timely close submissions and filings for international operations, upholding SOX internal controls, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local statutory accounting standards. The position is pivotal in driving continuous improvements in our financial close and reporting processes, as well as related SOX internal controls. You will collaborate across the company, contributing to financial policies and processes, and partner with the US Accounting team to ensure an accurate and complete close process. </p><p> </p><p>Here’s What You’ll Do:</p><p>Within 3 Months, You Will…: </p><ul><li><p>Lead a team of Chief Accountants, managing statutory financial statements for 12 international entities. </p></li><li><p>Maintain and update the Polish Accounting Policy for Moderna Poland. </p></li><li><p>Coordinate interim and final audits, providing assistance with Audit PBC queries. </p></li><li><p>Oversee internal controls and SOX compliance within the team. </p></li></ul><p> </p><p>Within 6 Months, You Will…: </p><ul><li><p>Manage the international month-end close process, ensuring adherence to Sarbanes Oxley requirements. </p></li><li><p>Develop and monitor Standard Operating Procedures and process maps. </p></li><li><p>Collaborate with global process owners to define standards, incorporating local requirements. </p></li><li><p>Engage in various internal and external activities, including SOX, statutory, and tax audits. </p></li></ul><p> </p><p>Within 12 Months, You Will…: </p><ul><li><p>Drive continuous improvement and standardization initiatives within the Record-to-Report (R2R) area. </p></li><li><p>Review and ensure accuracy in monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. </p></li><li><p>Contribute significantly to the monthly and quarterly close and financial reporting process. </p></li><li><p>Support system/application implementations and process improvements. </p></li></ul><p> </p><p>Here’s What You’ll Bring To The Table: </p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, MBA preferred </p></li><li><p>CPA and Big 4 public accounting firm experience preferred </p></li><li><p>7+ years of public accounting or combined public accounting and industry experience; biotechnology/pharmaceutical Industry experience is a plus </p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and supporting a timely close and reporting process </p></li><li><p>Experience with preparation of local statutory financial statements and other countries </p></li><li><p>Knowledge of life science, as well as commercial and manufacturing accounting transactions </p></li><li><p>Possess strong SOX internal controls background </p></li><li><p>Experience with financial systems including SAP, Blackline and Microsoft Suite of products </p></li><li><p>Strong work ethic, self-motivated, willing to “Roll-up your sleeves” to drive and deliver results, meet deadlines and improve processes </p></li><li><p>Strong analytical skills and pays attention to detail </p></li><li><p>Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills </p></li><li><p>Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams </p></li><li><p>Excellent Polish and English skills, both written and verbal.
