Our Studio Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated engineering student that will work on innovation initiatives at our Advance Design Studio in Pasadena, California and will co-develop projects to enable future technologies and products aligned with General Motors Zero Zero Zero vision.
This position offers a unique opportunity for interns to gain hands-on experience in innovative engineering solutions and work with a multi-disciplinary team.
What You’ll Do:
Support engineering feasibility studies and create basic physical and math models, supporting vehicle concepts.
Application of First Principles Engineering supporting multidisciplinary project ideation and development.
Create and facilitate engineering requirements to support the Studio design.
Develop occupant packaging studies in support of new vehicle concepts
Apply Design Thinking to create innovative solutions – Identify pain points, define measurement metrics for success, participate/lead brainstorming sessions, develop alternatives and select technical solutions.
Develop proposals to resolve issues.
Work with creative designers, modelers, other engineers, and fabrication personnel in the development of a scale model.
Required Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
Knowledge in CAD software (NX preferred)
Must be graduating between December 2026 and May 2028
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months
