Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Software Engineer onsite in Fort Meade, Maryland. As a Software Engineer you will:

• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions.
• Ensures software standards are met.
• Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5 years of software engineering development experience. Four years of additional software development experience may be substituted for degree.
• Requires an active TS/SCI with Poly level clearance.
• Requires coding experience with Java / C#
• Application development experience
• Full life cycle testing experience (Unit, Integration, and/or Functional)
• Willingness to learn new languages as mission requires.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Familiarity with Git - source code control. 
• Experience coding in C / C++
• Experience with Kotlin, Typescript / Javascript
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile development 
• Experienced with Mobile Development iOS/Android
• Web development

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
