JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Alumni Association’s Alumni Career Services team is seeking a dynamic, caring, energetic, and innovative individual to serve as the primary direct service career expert. The Assistant Director will support the career management of all Penn State alumni with a focus on members of the Penn State Alumni Association.

This role will serve alumni as follows:

  • Develop and deliver an array of services including individual and group career counseling/coaching and workshops on a variety of career related topics.
  • Effectively utilize technology to develop and deliver career services including webinars, discussion groups, individual sessions, and networking meetups.
  • Work with affiliate groups to develop career related programs including networking events and career education workshops, serving as an information resource or speaker when appropriate.
  • Establish relationships with Penn State alumni in targeted markets.
  • Oversee all aspects of member benefit job search resources.
  • Develop and coordinate programs that will increase the use of alumni and career experts in the provision of career support to all alumni.
  • Provide 1:1, individualized assistance to members of the Penn State Alumni Association.
  • Recruit and maintain connections with alumni through LionLink and LinkedIn.
  • Represent ACS resources and programs to alumni and students.
  • Support the LionLink program including: preparing and distributing related materials; recruiting and maintaining mentors; developing content; supporting existing programs; establishing tools to evaluate program effectiveness; as well as developing marketing materials and processes.

This position reports to the Director of Alumni Career Services and serves as a member of the Alumni Career Services team.

This position typically requires a Bachelors Degree and 4+ years of relate experience. Knowledge of and experience in delivering career services and career programs to adults in transition; event planning and delivery; use of technology including zoom to deliver 1:1 and group resources; and expertise in resume writing, interviewing, networking and other tools used in the job search are required.
