About the role:

Anthropic is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Senior Payroll Analyst to join our growing Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing and related accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll services to our employees.

Responsibilities:

• Execute full-cycle payroll processing for regular, off-cycle, severance, taxable benefits and equity compensation
• Perform payroll-related accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner
• Resolve a variety of tax notices from federal, state and local tax authorities
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and implement process improvements
• Assist in preparing payroll reports and analytics for management review

You may be a good fit if you:

• Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Have 5-6+ years of experience in payroll operations, preferably in a high-growth technology company
• Are proficient in payroll processing for various compensation types (regular, off-cycle, severance, taxable benefits, and equity)
• Have a strong knowledge of payroll-related accounting principles and practices
• Are experienced with payroll journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
• Possess excellent attention to detail, ability to multitask and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Are proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll/HRIS systems

Strong candidates may also:

• Have experience with international payroll processing
• Possess knowledge of mobility income and tax reporting requirements

The expected salary range for this position is:

Annual Salary:$160,000—$190,000 USD

Logistics

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
